The Wall Street Journal reports that “LinkedIn profiles that include a photograph are seven times more likely to be viewed than those that don’t, according to company stats. Without a photo, you’ll be more likely miss out on a job rather than land one.”
What impression do you want to leave with a potential employer? Your profile image IS a reflection of you. Make it the professional, polished you that you would present at an interview or a meeting.
Last week I photographed Raymond, a transitioning Marine Corps Infantry Officer. Ray needed a headshot for his LinkedIn profile as he is currently looking for a new career. As soon as I delivered his headshot, he uploaded to his social media profile to aid him with his job search. Rays chances of being found by a job recruiter are now much higher with his headshot visible on his social media profile page.
Bottom Line, a professional profile page without a great headshot of you may harm your chances of landing that next job. So don't skip it!
