Hilton Head Photographer, Kellie McCann Portraits, has been capturing family memories in the LowCountry since 1999. Recently, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by the lovely ladies of Carolina Women on WHHI-TV! Although I was a bit nervous, the interview went well, and I’m excited to share my story with you.

A Lifelong Passion for Hilton Head Photography

I’ve been living on Hilton Head Island for nearly 30 years, and photography has been my lifelong passion. After earning a degree in photojournalism from RIT, I worked as a newspaper photojournalist before transitioning into my own portrait photography business in 1999. Over the years, I’ve specialized in creating family portraits on the beaches of Hilton Head Island, capturing both tourists and locals who cherish this beautiful area.

Back when I started, film photography was the medium, and I knew nearly every photographer in the area. The industry has changed significantly since then, with the rise of digital photography. Today, anyone with a camera can call themselves a photographer, but true expertise goes beyond the technology.

Searching for a Hilton Head photographer today can be overwhelming because there are so many options. However, it’s important to remember that the best family portraits come from more than just owning a camera.
